Ormiston unveils his brand new indie-pop banger, ‘Step from the Limelight ’. The Montreal-based musician, formerly known as Beverlay, embraces a rhythmic drum pattern, heavy synths and vibrant electric guitars to create the foundations for his hazy pop vocal, detailing the fear of being trapped in monotony.
Penned in Ormiston’s characteristically thoughtful and introspective songwriting style, ‘Step from the Limelight’ offers a powerful message hidden in a bright and buoyant, indie-pop single, allowing an intimate glimpse into the Canadian producer’s innermost psyche.
With a sound reminiscent of Australian psychedelic producer Tame Impala, Ormiston’s ‘Step from the Limelight’ is a similarly dreamy, kaleidoscopic soundscape of 80’s synths and bassline heavy beats. The track criticises the fickleness of seeking fame and mass popularity, admiring instead the strength it takes to be oneself and “Step from the Limelight”.
