A quick alert for – principally – those of you in the UK. If you find yourself with little to do on Saturday evening, especially with the current Covid restrictions, you could do worse than tune in to the Sky Arts television channel (now available on Freeview channel 11, as well as through other providers including Sky and Virgin Media). From 6:30pm until 12:45am, there’s a feast of Pink Floyd related goodies. Starting off with the band’s Live At Pompeii film, it’s then PULSE. Prior to its domestic release on October 2nd, Roger’s Us + Them is then shown, and the evening is concluded with The Story Of Wish You Were Here. For the channel to be showing Us + Them just about a week prior to release is an unexpected treat. Our thanks to Dave Rogers for letting us know about this Floydian evening.

Roger Waters records new version of The Gunner’s Dream
This afternoon, Roger Waters has released a new version of The Gunner’s Dream on his social media channels. The song was a stand-out track on Pink Floyd’s 1983 album The Final Cut (the last Floyd studio album to include Roger), and he has performed it live in recent years on occasion (the last time being in Guadalajara, Mexico, on December 5th 2018). In the accompanying post with the video (https://www.facebook.com/rogerwaters/posts/3866974220013021), Roger talks about watching a 2013 documentary last night about Stanislav Petrov, ‘The Man Who Saved The World’; it was Petrov who prevented nuclear war in 1983. This new recording of The Gunner’s Dream is principally focused on Roger and his piano, but at appropriate points the rest of his current touring band join in too. Here it is:

Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets – Royal Albert Hall concert moves to new date
An update for those of you who have been wondering about some of the dates on the upcoming UK and Ireland Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2020 tour. Whilst most of the shows had been rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic, there were still three shows where revised dates hadn't been declared. One of those three – the May 7th show at London's Royal Albert Hall – has been moved to October 20th. Tickets remain valid for the revised date, and ticket holders are (as ever) advised to keep hold of their tickets and confirmations for this show. There are two other postponed shows from this leg of the tour which are yet to be announced – Dublin on April 29th, and Southampton on May 4th. Hopefully work is ongoing on getting new dates for these events and once we have the information, we will let you all know. It must be a difficult logistical exercise to come up with revised touring schedules which work with spare dates at the venues (some will have bookings, even if not yet announced, for next year already) whilst not turning the tour into a completely illogical journey! We're also expecting the European tour, due to start in Brussels on May 18th, to be postponed as well with the current global situation, and again, once we have the relevant information, we'll let you know.
