As you'll no doubt be aware, legendary drummer Mick Fleetwood enlisted an all-star cast for a spectacular, one-of-a-kind concert, in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, which was held on Tuesday, February 25th at London's Palladium – shortly before Covid-19 affected life everywhere, and resulted in lockdowns in many countries. The bill for Mick Fleetwood Friends Celebrate The Music Of Peter Green And The Early Years Of Fleetwood Mac, included Billy Gibbons, David Gilmour, Jonny Lang, Andy Fairweather Low, John Mayall, Christine McVie, Zak Starkey, Steven Tyler, Bill Wyman, Noel Gallagher, Pete Townshend, Neil Finn, Kirk Hammett and many more. Legendary producer Glyn Johns joined as the executive sound producer and the house band featured Fleetwood himself along with Andy Fairweather Low, Dave Bronze and Ricky Peterson. Very sadly, five months after the concert, Peter passed away. For those who weren't able to attend the concert, three different editions were announced for release – a Super Deluxe Edition Box Set, with the entire show on 4LP, 2CD and a Blu-ray in a book (and copies ordered early included your choice of name in the concert documentary credits, a reproduction signed concert poster, and reproduction signed set list); a Blu-ray and 2CD set; and a 4LP set. These were originally slated for release on October 16th, 2020, but with Covid-19 affecting the production of the release, this has now been postponed to April 30th, 2021. You can still order the Super Deluxe Edition exclusively through Townsend Music's online store (https://mfaf.tmstor.es/?utm_source=sendinblue utm_campaign=MAIN__WC_240220__Artist_Stores_Mailer utm_medium=email%22). To order the other editions, you can either get them from Townsend’s store, or from the following Amazon stores (thus helping Brain Damage with a much needed contribution towards site running costs, at no extra cost to you!): MICK FLEETWOOD FRIENDS – Blu-ray & 2CD: Amazon UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM3/braindamage-21) Germany (http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM3/braindamage0f-21) France (http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM3/braindamageon-21) Italy (http://www.amazon.it/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM3/bradamonl-21) Spain (http://www.amazon.es/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM3/braidama01-21) MICK FLEETWOOD FRIENDS – 4LP: Amazon UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM4/braindamage-21) Germany (http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM4/braindamage0f-21) France (http://www.amazon.fr/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM4/braindamageon-21) Italy (http://www.amazon.it/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM4/bradamonl-21) Spain (http://www.amazon.es/exec/obidos/ASIN/B08NRXFSM4/braidama01-21) It is not available to order from Amazon.com or Amazon Canada. We suspect the Blu-ray won’t have any region coding on it though, so we think you should be fine to order if you aren’t in one of the countries above. We’ll try and get confirmation of this though. Plans were also in place for cinema screenings in early June this year, but again, these were impossible. March 23rd, 2021 is the revised date when you'll be able to watch the concert on the big screen. More details of this should be available soon via mickfleetwoodandfriends.com (https://mickfleetwoodandfriends.com/). Finally, here’s the official trailer for the release, including footage from the concert:
It has just been announced that Trafalgar Releasing have acquired the new Roger Waters film based on his 2017/2018 Us + Them World Tour, for a global event cinema release. Trafalgar were the company behind the similar events for Roger’s film of The Wall, and David Gilmour’s Live At Pompeii, the screenings of which were very successful, and well received by fans. Roger and his band performed a total of 156 shows to 2.3 million people throughout North America, Australia New Zealand, Europe, Russia, Latin America and Mexico, opening in May 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri, and ending in December 2018 in Monterrey, Mexico. The shows in Amsterdam were specifically filmed for release, but we wonder if shots have been included from other concerts on the tour. The image that Trafalgar have released with the news, and kindly supplied to us, shows Roger at London’s Hyde Park [click thumbnail to see it in greater detail]. A great image, but suspect that this particular performance, on a very hot day last summer, won’t be included in the footage. Roger’s manager, Mark Fenwick said: Roger has been the innovator of theatre in arena and stadium rock and roll since the early 70’s. He is legendary for pushing the boundaries of surround sound and visual entertainment with his message of love and humanity through Us + Them . Those who saw Roger’s most recent tour will know what a visual tour de force it was, and we’ve got very high hopes that the film of the tour will represent the striking event well. More news will be released in due course, with the global event cinema release scheduled for Autumn/Fall 2019. We then suspect the DVD/Blu-ray release will follow, either for the end of the year, or for early 2020.
MILA has returned with his brand-new bouncing track ‘Queen of the Hive’ – a playful indie/hip-hop banger that’ll be energising crowds in 2021. On the 28th August 2016, you could find me in the crowd at the Radio 1 Stage at Reading Festival, ricocheting between various people. Everyone belted lyrics in an Essex accent, the tent …
