West Brom held their position atop the Championship table on Saturday afternoon despite being involved in a match marred by controversy.
Slaven Bilic’s men were pegged back in injury time thanks to Josh Cullen slotting home a 94th-minute penalty to clinch a point for Charlton Athletic.
The Baggies had taken the lead through Matty Phillips on his return from injury before Hal Robson-Kanu restored their lead after Macauley Bonne bagged an equaliser as the Welshman curled home an excellent effort nine minutes from time.

Nathan Ferguson was sent off for Albion, but not before the referee mistakenly handed Grady Diangana his marching orders, and the spot-kick awarded to the visitors was just as dubious as Semi Ajayi barely touched Naby Sarr inside the area.
For all of the anger over the officiating during the match, there was one positive in Robson-Kanu bagging his second goal in three games, proving that his contract extension was well worth pursuing.
Several of the Hawthorns faithful have taken to Twitter to talk up the 30-year-old.
One supporter claimed he deserved a 20-year contract extension after his finish while another believes Robson-Kanu is ten times the player of Charlie Austin, who has scored just the one goal all season.
Others labelled him ‘special’ and ‘underrated’ with one further fan going as far as saying West Brom look far better with him in the attack.
Here’s the best of the reaction:
@RobsonKanu deserves a 20 year extension after that finish. Outrageous finish. Goat

Robson Kanu needs to start if for nothing else he’s more mobile and offers more when we whip crosses in than Austin #Wba

The disappointment of conceding last minute aside, @RobsonKanu deserves massive credit, never moans, always gives his all and the last 3 games hes changed the game. What a fantastic goal, you had the hawthorns rocking 👌👏 #wba pic.twitter.com/RwEIZIBiO4

If VAR was in the Championship you’d have 50 overturned decisions a game.
On a positive note 14 unbeaten at home, Robson-Kanu is ten times the player Austin is and still top of the league. #wba— Alex Newton (@AlexRobNewton) October 26, 2019
