Outsider in lethal striker race know where Liverpool, Chelsea target will go

A new candidate has joined the hunt for a German hotshot linked with Liverpool and Chelsea, though they think the race may have already been won, per a report.

One might think Liverpool and Chelsea aren’t in need of additional firepower given recent results. Chelsea hit Norwich for seven, while the Reds put five past bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Nonetheless, a strength of the two clubs in recent years especially has been their expert navigation of the transfer market.

Few young strikers in European football are rising quite as fast as RB Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi.

The 19-year-old is already a full fledged Germany international after his exploits in Austria proved too difficult to ignore.

Adeyemi has bagged 14 goals in 18 games this year, including three in three in the Champions League. So it came as no surprise to see the young forward linked with Liverpool throughout October.

According to Austrian souyrce ORF, Salzburg will want somewhere between €30m and €40m for Adeyemi. However, they are open to his sale and will likely be able to generate the sum they desire given Adeyemi has a lengthy list of suitors.

Chelsea were recently reported to have thrown their hat in the ring. But according to Goal (citing Italian outlet Calciomercato), Serie A champions Inter Milan have entered the frame.

Romelu Lukaku’s exit was filled by Edin Dzeko at the San Siro. But at 35, the ex-Man City striker is only a short-term solution.

Adeyemi would be a superb addition to Simone Inzaghi’s set-up, but per the report, they believe Bayern Munich will win the race.

The Bavarian powerhouse are known for scooping up the best and brightest German talents around. Accoring to the report, it is Bayern who are in the ‘stronger position’ to land Adeyemi ahead of all other suitors.

“The result is insane” – Klopp on Man Utd demolition

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on his Liverpool forwards following the stunning victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

During a post-match interview with Sky Sports (via BBC Sport), Klopp said: “What can I say? Did I expect that? No. What we did in the last third was insane. Pressing high, winning balls, scored wonderful goals.

“I told them at half-time to play better. We started incredibly well and stopped playing football. We controlled the game after the fifth, it was not about scoring more, just trying to get out without more injuries.

“The result is insane, I asked if there was one like this in history and if there isn’t then it will take a while. The players put a nice piece in the book. It is special but we don’t celebrate like crazy, we have respect for the opponents. We were lucky in some moments, United are not in their best moment.”

On Salah, the German added: “The fifth goal, Mo was there to get the goals and he deals with the fuss that everyone makes around him. He enjoys his football and long may it continue. I knew already [he wants to end his career here], I know the situation.”
