As you'll no doubt be aware, legendary drummer Mick Fleetwood enlisted an all-star cast for a one-of-a-kind concert, in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, which was held on Tuesday evening (25th February) at London's Palladium. Tickets for Mick Fleetwood Friends Celebrate The Music Of Peter Green And The Early Years Of Fleetwood Mac, when it was announced, sold out in near record time, and that was no surprise when the announced bill (later expanded a little) was revealed. The bill included Billy Gibbons, David Gilmour, Jonny Lang, Andy Fairweather Low, John Mayall, Christine McVie, Zak Starkey, Steven Tyler, Bill Wyman, Noel Gallagher, Pete Townshend, Neil Finn, Kirk Hammett and many more. Legendary producer Glyn Johns joined as the executive sound producer and the house band featured Fleetwood himself along with Andy Fairweather Low, Dave Bronze and Ricky Peterson.Fleetwood, who curated the list of artists performing, said: The concert is a celebration of those early blues days where we all began, and it's important to recognize the profound impact Peter and the early Fleetwood Mac had on the world of music. Peter was my greatest mentor and it gives me such joy to pay tribute to his incredible talent. I am honoured to be sharing the stage with some of the many artists Peter has inspired over the years and who share my great respect for this remarkable musician. 'Then Play On'… Here's some shots of David in action – he performed Oh Well Part Two (something which had NEVER been performed live previously in the history of Fleetwood Mac) on a Black Strat, and on a slide guitar, treated the audience to Albatross. For those who weren't able to attend the concert, there's some excellent news! On October 16th there's the Super Deluxe Edition Box Set, which consists of the entire show on 4LP, 2CD and a Blu-ray in a book. There's a limited edition attendee version that includes your choice of name in the concert documentary credits, a reproduction signed concert poster, and reproduction signed set list. You can order this now exclusively through Townsend Music's online store (https://mfaf.tmstor.es/?utm_source=sendinblue utm_campaign=MAIN__WC_240220__Artist_Stores_Mailer utm_medium=email%22). A picture of the provisional artwork is shown above. They note this is subject to change, as not least, it was created before the show took place! If you can't wait that long, in selected cinemas in the UK, Ireland and Europe on June 2nd and 7th, you'll be able to watch the concert on the big screen. Second night in Mexico City for Roger Waters 2020 tour
Palacio de los Deportes (2020-tour-zone/october-8th-palacio-de-los-deportes-mexico-city-m.html). The show will take place on October 8th, 2020 (2020-tour-zone/october-8th-palacio-de-los-deportes-mexico-city-m.html) (with the first show taking place on the 7th) and tickets for this new date go on sale on Thursday, February 20th at 11am CST, through this link at Ticketmaster.com.mx (https://www.ticketmaster.com.mx/promo/rhfagy). Roger's upcoming tour is, as normal, shrouded in secrecy, but as the tour posters reveal it is a first for Roger as it is being presented in the round . This basically means that the stage is sat in the middle of the floor level of the venue, with the band and performance being aimed at those sat all around. This should also mean that most seats in the venue will have an excellent view! Should additional shows be announced for Mexico, or elsewhere, we will of course let you know as soon as we can!

Latest issue of Italian/English Floyd fanzine Heyou now available
Just published is the latest issue (number 36 – cover date June 2021) of the Pink Floyd fanzine Heyou run by our friends over at the Italian website of the same name. The 52-page dual language magazine (in Italian and English), which is published every six months or so, catches up with things in the Floyd world. Unlike other recent issues of Heyou, the latest edition selects just two subjects as its major focuses, not least as 2020 ended up being a year where despite the planned tours from Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets and Roger Waters, very little happened due to the global pandemic. The first feature covers around two-thirds of the magazine, and is the second part of a detailed article looking at the run of Wall concerts in 1980/1981, focusing on exactly what happened during the shows. The article was put together in conjunction with Vernon Fitch, a name familiar to many of you as a Floyd fan with an encyclopaedic knowledge. The article is illustrated with some very interesting photographs of the concert, tickets, passes, and more. The coverage concludes with The Show Must Go On, suggesting that the next issue will include the final, third part of the analysis. Turning the clock back further, the magazine then focuses on the 1969 film, More, which the Floyd provided soundtrack music for. Their coverage includes contemporary reviews of the film, and a reprint of an interview conducted with Barbet Schroeder at the time. A review from Flood Magazine of the Pink Floyd Live At Knebworth 1990 release precedes the normal wrap up of the recent news that concludes every issue – not a huge amount this time, of course, due to the current situation. More details of the Heyou fanzine can be found at www.heyou.it/fsubscrbd.html (http://www.heyou.it/fsubscrbd.html), where you can get individual copies, and subscription enquiries (four issues costing 35 euros within Europe, and 45 euros outside Europe) should go to durgaheyou@libero.it (mailto:durgaheyou@libero.it?subject=Heyou%20enquiry%20from%20BD%20visitor) – make sure you mention Brain Damage when you write!

Guy Pratt in Amsterdam – more tickets released, and final copies of TDSOTM Collectors book
Floydstuff (https://www.floydstuff.com) had lined up a show for those of you in or near Amsterdam in The Netherlands. He is hosting Guy Pratt at the beautiful Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American, following the incredible 2022 tour with Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets, for an evening of chatter and some music too. The event takes place at 8pm, at the hotel’s intimate setting of the ‘Mata Hide Away’ named after the infamous courtesan and convicted spy Mata Hari. The Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American is featured in the legendary photo shoot by Nico van der Stam during Pink Floyd’s first visit to the Netherlands in April 1967. Whilst tickets for this event are very limited, a few extra tickets have just been released and are available NOW from Floydstuff.com (https://www.floydstuff.com/product/9018818/in-conversation-with-guy-pratt-hard-rock-hotel-amsterdam-american-18-march-2023). Talking of limited things from Floydstuff, those who haven’t bought their copy of Pink Floyd – Any Colour You Like: The Dark Side Of The Moon on Vinyl (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/pink-floyds-the-dark-side-of-the-moon-collectors-book-anno.html) yet, don’t leave it too long – Floydstuff have advised they are down to the last few boxes of this fascinating book, a guide to some 700 different versions of the album! In other Guy Pratt news, it’s been announced that Guy will be appearing in a new film, planned for release next year, called The Monk, The Mermaid & Molise. Guy will appear as a fictionalised version of himself, alongside Raffaello Degruttola, Sally Phillips and Ronni Ancona. The basic premise of the film is that Guy accepts an invitation to spend five days playing a series of bass clinics in a remote Italian region, Molise, run by a super fan, and must face up to decisions from his past. In the Screen Daily (https://www.screendaily.com/news/film-soho-gears-up-for-road-trip-comedy-the-monk-the-mermaid-and-molise-exclusive/5179244.article) announcement, it notes that Guy will write the music, with contributions from his previous musical collaborators.
