Liverpool’s STR^NGE Releases Mesmerizing New Single ‘Timestuck’

Liverpool’s vibrant music scene has birthed yet another standout act, STR^NGE, who recently unveiled their latest single, ‘Timestuck,’ on June 20th. The track is a haunting exploration of existential angst, artfully blending 70s psychedelic influences with contemporary sounds to create a truly unique listening experience.

The formation of STR^NGE is a story in itself, with Chrissy, the former drummer of The Mysterines, joining forces with James, David, and Leon. Together, they draw inspiration from legendary artists like David Bowie and Talking Heads, resulting in a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly innovative.

Produced by the acclaimed Jose Ibanez of The Heavy North, ‘Timestuck’ is a preview of what fans can expect from STR^NGE’s upcoming debut EP. The track sees the band experimenting with new styles in the studio, combining melodic 70s flair with intricate piano strings and dynamic drumming. This blend recalls the timeless qualities of The Beatles and David Bowie, while also drawing parallels to the more modern Arctic Monkeys. The result is a song that captures the fun and raucous energy of their live shows, infused with a deep, melancholic undertone. It’s a testament to STR^NGE’s ability to craft melodic hooks and deliver witty, poignant lyrics.

The band themselves have spoken about the personal nature of ‘Timestuck’: “‘Timestuck’ is an attempt to capture a feeling of desperation and futility both in love and in general existence. It was written during a period in life where there was that fear of time and panic at existence which coincides with a major change. It’s hard to express the connection that love has with ontological angst, and trying to fit both topics into one song was half a struggle but hopefully it does communicate the relationship between the two to the listener.”
