‘I Refuse To Believe (You Could Love Me)’ is the latest single from John Murry, taken from his forthcoming album, The Stars Are God’s Bullet Holes.

Mississippi’s John Murry returns with the brand new single and music video for his track ‘I Refuse To Believe (You Could Love Me)’, taken from his forthcoming third album, The Stars Are God’s Bullet Holes, set for release on June 25th via Submarine Cat Records.

Produced by friend and long-time collaborator John Parish (PJ Harvey, Eels, Aldous Harding, This Is the Kit), the track sits comfortably alongside its predecessors, ‘Oscar Wilde (Came Here To Make Fun Of You)’ and ‘Ones + Zeros’, both of which were unveiled earlier this year, providing a further glimpse into the content and concept behind Murry’s long-awaited album. Much like the two previously released singles, ‘I Refuse To Believe (You Could Love Me)’ also shares that underlying element of melancholy that Murry’s music has come to be synonymous with, but with a slightly more cheery exterior.

An expert songwriter and a seasoned all-around musician, John Murry draws listeners into his weird and woe-some world with burning honesty, disarming vulnerability and a seldom-seen sincerity that one just can’t help but love. Delivered over rumbling, rock n’ roll beats and low, reverberating guitars, John’s Iconic sing-talk vocals command the track with ease as he offers listeners an uncharacteristically jaunty bop shrouded in heavy-hearted sorrow. A fantastic new offering from John Murry who consistently manages to shock and amaze with each new release.
