Crystal Palace set to sell Mamadou Sakho to Lyon
With only 12 months remaining on his Crystal Palace contract, Mamadou Sakho appears to be closing in on a move to Lyon this summer. That’s according to France Football.
Sakho joined the Eagles from Liverpool for 26 million pounds back in August 2017. However, the 30-year-old defender has suffered a series of injuries in recent years which have curtailed his game time.
This season Sakho has only made 8 Premier League appearances for Palace, which included a red card in an away win at Bournemouth in December.
France Football report that Lyon are “advancing” with the Sakho transfer.
It’s believed that Sakho will agree a 3-year deal with Lyon, while the defender has agreed to a “substantial” drop in salary to move back to France.

How much do Lyon need to spend to sign Mamadou Sakho from Crystal Palace?
France Football reveal that the Eagles are demanding five million euros for Sakho. However, it’s unclear if Lyon will meet that valuation.
Throwing some spanners in the works, France Football note that “it remains to be seen if Lyon really take action”, adding that the Ligue 1 side are yet to lodge an official offer for the former PSG defender.
Eagles troll Liverpool with comedy hype video
Crystal Palace are back in Premier League action on Wednesday when they visit Anfield to take on Liverpool.
A win for Liverpool would leave them within touching distance of their first league title in 30 years.
However, while much of the pre-game focus has centred on Liverpool’s march towards the championship, Crystal Palace also have plenty to play for.
After four wins in a row, in which Palace haven’t conceded a goal, the Eagles have legitimate hopes of European football.
Palace are on 42 points, while Tottenham are 7th on 45 points.
The Sky Sports promo for this game was ridiculously slanted towards Liverpool’s quest for the title. There was barely any mention of Crystal Palace, besides a late appearance from Wilf Zaha.
Flagging up the importance of the Liverpool game, and downplaying the importance of Liverpool’s hunt for the Premier League trophy, Crystal Palace released the following excellent video.
