Classic in the snow
Tonight’s Champions League game between Bayern Munich and PSG was as good a game as any football fan could hope to see.
A breath-taking tie saw 5 goals scored and Bayern Munich have 30 shots on goal and yet still find themselves on the losing side of a classic in the Bavarian snow.
PSG got off to a dream start in the tie when Neymar put Kylian Mbappe through and he fired the Parisians ahead in the third minute of the game. Manuel Neuer perhaps should have done better with the shot, but it was just the start of a wild night.

The French Champions doubled their lead in the 28th minute, when Marquinhos controlled a beautiful Neymar pass with one touch before producing a really fine finish.

Bayern quickly made a substitution with Alphonso Davies replacing Leon Goretzka and pulled a goal back when Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting powered home a header from the middle of the penalty area.

Bayern made a second substitution before half time when Niklas Sule was replaced by Jerome Boateng as an excellent first half game to an end.
Munich were a different team in the second half and were rewarded when Thomas Muller glanced home a header in the 60th minute to bring the Germans level.

It was a fantastic result for Mauricio Pochettino’s side who will host Munich next week in Paris, knowing that they are 90 mins away from gaining revenge for last year’s Champions League final defeat.
Main man missing
Bayern Munich’s talismanic Polish striker Robert Lewandowski confirmed to Sky Germany pre match that he is unlikely to recover from injury in time for next week’s Champions League quarter final second leg with PSG.
Lewandowski picked up his injury whilst away with Poland during the recent run of international games.

The German champions were guilty of missing a crazy number of chances in the game, ones that Lewandowski would have loved to have been on the end of.
There is no doubt that Bayern would want him available but they will have to go to Paris and get a result if they are to make it to the quarter finals.
