Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League journey for the 2019/20 campaign is finished following Tuesday’s 3-0 defeat away to RB Leipzig.
Jose Mourinho’s side were already losing 1-0 on aggregate entering the European contest but could not turn things around as they bowed out of the competition.
It was another disappointing night for the London club, but a number of the Spurs supporters refused to take their frustration out on Dele Alli.

Indeed, it was somewhat of a dangerous tactic when the 37-time England international took to social media in the aftermath of the final whistle, but the club’s fans insisted that they did not blame for the former MK Dons youngster for what happened in Germany.
Thought you spoke tremendously Dele after the game, can’t be easy playing a position which is totally unfamiliar to you.
We knew this was going to be a painful rebuild but we did not expect it to be this torturous.
We will be back no matter how long it takes us to get there.

Proper interview and ownership Dele, thanks for caring. I do hope you boys can turn it around and end the season on something positive. COYS 💙

You put in a real shift and tried to make things happen, so thank you Dele. But with nothing ahead of you it was always going to be hard – that’s the Board’s fault.
The defensive errors were concerning though.

A true test for any Spurs fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
Alli spoke to BT Sport after the three-goal defeat but some of the Tottenham fans think that captain Hugo Lloris should have been in front of the camera.

Next up for Tottenham is the small matter of a Premier League clash at home to Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
As it stands, Spurs are eighth in the table, four points off fifth-placed United, although Arsenal will go above Mourinho’s side in the division if they manage to overcome Manchester City in tonight’s affair at the Etihad Stadium.
