London based nu-soul breakout Azul Kechi has returned with her latest single ‘Temporary Love’, the third single to be taken from her anticipated upcoming debut album Celestial Love.
Following on from the success of ‘Highs & Lows’ and ‘Fool Me Once’, which gained support from the likes of BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio London, and Jazz FM, Azul Kechi once again showcases her fresh, breezy sound that is sure to captivate audiences.
Blending organic jazz infused instrumentation with modern R&B-soul-pop tendencies, Azul Kechi has created a unique musical approach that captures a striking authenticity. The new single ‘Temporary Love’ is a perfect example of this, featuring Azul’s smooth, sultry vocals, effortlessly infectious flow and Amy Winehouse-esque swagger.
Built around a instrumental backdrop of tight live bass, drums, guitar lines and swelling synths, the track possesses a simplistic yet rich sonic texture which grows and subtly shifts into the ear-worm chorus.
Talking about the track, Azul explains: “Temporary Love was written during lockdown and reflects Azul’s feelings in metaphors of uncertainty and change with the surrounding environment when everything felt temporary”
Influenced by the likes of Betty Davis and Lauryn Hill, Azul Kechi draws heavily on her life experiences as a person who feels different and is navigating the world while coming into her own. With the release of ‘Temporary Love’, Azul Kechi continues to build on the growing hype she has amassed to this point. A rising star with an intoxicating sonic pallet, keep an eye on this solo up and comer, big things await!
