Scotland vs Wales player ratings: 2021 Six Nations

The Scotland vs Wales player ratings as Wales edged out 14-man Scotland 25-24 at Murrayfield to maintain their 100% start to their Six Nations campaign.

Tries from Darcy Graham and captain Stuart Hogg had given Gregor Townsend’s side a comfortable 17-8 lead at the break.

But a frantic seven minutes saw a Scotland try ruled out and Zander Fagerson dismissed while the visitors went over twice to swing the momentum.

A Wyn Jones try was bookended by two from player of the match Louis Rees-Zammit, with the second proving to be the match-winning try.

Scotland fought to the end but their hopes were dashed in stoppage time as Hogg failed to hold onto Duhan van der Merwe’s desperate last charge.

Hogg broke Glasgow’s club record by hitting a top speed of 36.8kmh (just under 23mph) in training. In contrast, the Greater Roadrunner bird can only hit 20mph, while, back in the human realm, the top speed ever clocked by Usain Bolt was 27.8mph in the Berlin World Championships of 2009 when he set the still-standing 100m record of 9.58 seconds.
