Revealed: The Chelsea player Broja is using as example in path to Blues’ first-team

The Chelsea player Armando Broja is using as an example in his path to the Blues’ first-team has been revealed.

Broja is currently on loan at Southampton and has scored five and assisted one in 18 Premier League games this term.

And whilst the striker has been linked with a move away from Chelsea of late, it appears he does have desires on a first-team role at Stamford Bridge.

Before his move to Southampton, Broja would spend 2020/21 on loan in the Netherlands with Vitesse – scoring 11 and assisting three in 34 outings.

One of Broja’s Vitesse teammates during his loan spell was Thomas Bruns.

And now, in a recent interview, Bruns has revealed that Broja is using Mason Mount as an example as Mount played well at Vitesse before becoming a key player at Chelsea:

“He sees Mason Mount as his example,” Bruns said. “He also did well at Vitesse and is now a key player at Chelsea.”

Could Broja replace Lukaku at Chelsea?

In the same interview, Bruns would tip Broja to replace Romelu Lukaku as Chelsea’s main striker in the future: “No shocking numbers, but apart from those ten goals, he has shown what other qualities he has. I think he can make it to the first team at Chelsea within four years.

“That will also be his goal. They will need a new striker anyway if Lukaku wants to move on in the long run. I think he could do that.”

Lukaku would be signed by Chelsea for a second time this past summer following a superb stint in Italy which saw the hitman play a key role in Inter Milan ending Juventus’ reign of dominance over the Serie A.

However, since his switch to Chelsea, Lukaku has struggled to recapture his best form.
