A month ago, a special set of three evenings featuring Polly Samson, David Gilmour and guests, to celebrate Polly's new novel A Theatre For Dreamers (latest/polly-samson-and-david-gilmour-a-theatre-for-dreamers-book-and-music-e.html) was announced. Tonight, inevitably, due to the current COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic, these evenings have been rescheduled to later in the year, when hopefully the situation will be more stable. These special events will feature Polly in conversation with journalist Rosie Boycott, readings, film and live music, including a new song Yes, I Have Ghosts written by David and Polly. On his social media channels, David noted that he'll be performing a few songs, including [the] new one. The rescheduled events (dates and locations are shown below) take place in September, and all tickets are valid for the new shows; ticket holders will be sent their signed first edition of the book and the exclusive portrait of Polly Samson and David Gilmour taken on Hydra and signed by them both, in the week commencing Monday, March 30th. For details of refunds, visit PollySamson.com (http://www.pollysamson.com/). Special limited 12″ Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets release for RSD 2020!
The third and last of the 2020 Record Store Day releases which could be of specific interest to Brain Damage visitors has now been revealed, hot on the heels of yesterday's announcement of the 2007 live recording of Arnold Layne, from the Syd Barrett tribute concert at London's Barbican, being released as a 7 single (latest/pink-floyd-release-arnold-layne-live-for-record-store-day.html), and the heavyweight 180g clear 2LP vinyl issue of Roger Waters Live In Berlin 1990 (latest/roger-waters-live-in-berlin-1990-clear-vinyl-for-rsd-2020.html) on this special day, now there's also a 12 single coming from Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets! On the A-side of the single will be live versions by the Saucers of See Emily Play and Vegetable Man, with the B-side hosting a special etching. The A-side will be a swirling pink-to-blue psychedelic vinyl design. The recordings have been taken from the upcoming Live At The Roundhouse Blu-ray, DVD/CD and 2LP sets, released on 17th April (latest/nick-masons-saucerful-of-secrets-live-at-the-roundhouse-2lp-2cd-dvd-blu-ray-ci-2.html) (the day before RSD) which is from the band's appearance at the London venue last year.As with the other RSD 2020 releases, we don't know how limited this will be: often the RSD releases are pressed up as just a couple of thousand or so worldwide. And, as we've mentioned previously, these limited edition items are released via RSD participating stores on 18th April 2020 – go to RecordStoreDay.com (http://www.recordstoreday.com/) for more details of who those will be. A reminder that it will ONLY be these stores participating; the stores themselves can't sell it online – the record will become available for customers coming through the door of the store from the morning of the 18th (and not before), in limited quantities – first come, first served, and only one copy per customer. After RSD, if copies remain, they may put them for sale online (and of course, there'll also be copies on eBay inevitably…).

Dublin Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets concert cancelled
Unfortunately, there's another announcement courtesy of the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic resulting in a change to people's plans. This morning, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets confirmed the news that the Dublin gig, which was to start the 2020 tour, and was due to originally take place on April 29th, has now been cancelled. They had hoped, like the rest of the tour, to move it, but to no avail. On their social media this morning, they explained: Sadly, despite our best efforts, we've had to cancel the Dublin Saucers show due to the unavailability of the venue. We worked really hard to try and fit it in to the revised tour dates, but weren't able to get a suitable available night there. If you haven't yet been contacted by whom you bought the tickets from, please go back to them for a refund. It is indeed sad news, but hopefully when the next tour is being arranged, a date in Dublin will be prominent in the band's plans. We've also had a number of emails asking what's happening about the European dates; whilst we know these are postponed, we don't have the revised dates yet. It must be an incredibly difficult job to move a tour, especially as most venues get booked very early on in normal times, even if they don't announce for many months. Thus, the venues will already have concerts lined up for many dates, so moving a tour, and keeping the route vaguely sensible, will be really tricky…
