We've got an update on the forthcoming 2020 UK tour of Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets (nick-mason-s-sos-2020/index.php), which was unsurprisingly postponed due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, which has resulted in all public events being moved or cancelled. The remaining UK show to be rescheduled was the date at Southampton's Mayflower Theatre, due to be held on Monday, May 4th (nick-mason-s-sos-2020/may-4th-mayflower-theatre-southampton-en.html). This has now moved to sit with the other Saucers' dates, and will now take place on Sunday, October 18th.For those with tickets already, these will remain valid for the new date, and will not require changing. You do not need to contact the venue, or take any other action. The Dublin gig, which was due to take place next week on April 29th, has been postponed as well (obviously) but as yet, the revised date has not been confirmed. The same applies to the European dates which were to follow the UK and Ireland performances. It must be a really difficult job to reschedule a tour to new dates, fitting in with potentially pre-existing bookings for the venues in question, whilst also keeping the travel schedule for the band, crew and equipment to as sensible a route as is possible.

Interview: Michael Baker
Rich and poignant, Michael Baker’s new single Baby Books explores themes of mental health and friendship. Bittersweet guitar riffs and soaring vocal melodies hover above a bed of wistful atmospherics and driving percussion. There’s a gentle balance between fragility and a compelling forward motion that simultaneously soothes and motivates. I had a chat to Michael …

Roger Waters concludes his 2022/2023 tour
Well, that’s it – for now, at least. Roger Waters has now completed his 2022/2023 This Is Not A Drill tour, with his show in Quito, Ecuador, with the South American dates concluding the 56 shows this year, which joined the 43 last year. The majority of the dates were performed “in the round”, which Roger and his band in the centre of auditoriums, with Roger occasionally visiting the different “arms” of the stage structure during the show. For the final, stadium shows, a more conventional staging was employed due to the nature of the venues. To answer those who HAVEN’T yet emailed us to ask, there aren’t any dates currently confirmed for 2024, or any other confirmed activity for Roger. There has been talk about him recording another album, and for those who went to, or heard about, the London Palladium shows in October (which presented his Redux version of The Dark Side Of The Moon) he has been writing his memoirs. He read out three sections on the first night, covering life in Cambridge, Syd Barrett, and a friendly duck… There are no details of when the book will appear but obviously we will let you know once we have details. We’re also waiting to hear if there will be a live album/video from the tour released at some point. Again, once we have the confirmed information, we’ll let you know. If any of you went to ANY of the shows over the last two years, and would like to share your views on them, please get in touch. We’d love to include your contributions!

Further Mexican date added to 2022 Roger Waters tour
Some great news for those of you in (or able to travel to) Mexico – another date on the Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill 2022 tour (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2020-tour-zone/index.php) has been added. Roger and his band will be bringing his “in the round” show to the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico, on October 11th, 2022 (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2022-tour-zone/october-11th-arena-monterrey-monterrey-mexico.html). Tickets for the show go on sale on Tuesday, November 30th through www.superboletos.com (http://www.superboletos.com/) and possibly Ticketmaster.com.mx (http://www.ticketmaster.com.mx/). As normal, we have set up a specific page on Brain Damage for this show – there’s a page for EVERY upcoming concert, which before the show will have details of ticketing, maps, web links, and more; after the show, it is there for your reviews and pictures, and we welcome (and really appreciate) every contribution however large or small! Should any further concerts be added to the tour, we will let you know. At present, the tour is ONLY taking in venues in the US, Canada and Mexico. If (and it’s a big if) any dates are added elsewhere we will let you know. We’ve had a lot of emails asking if Roger will be playing in Europe or the UK, and at present, there is no indication that he will. Hopefully that will change, but at the moment, we are suspecting this unlikely.
