Irish Rock Trio Dirty Power Are Back With Refined Acoustic Track: ‘Said And Done’.

It’s not easy for a self-established band to go out of their comfort zone and try something new, but for international rock trio, Dirty Power, it was worth the risk.

The band’s new single, ‘Said And Done’, is the second instalment of a three-part arc to be released. This new project is a step in a different direction to their previous hard-hitting, heavy rock album, ‘Notions’, with the band stripping back to their roots.

The touching lyrics suggest the song is about friends coming together, trust and comradery. It follows the idea that when all is said and done, it’s how we helped each other out that matters.

Inspired by Rodrigo y Gabriela’s beautiful acoustic rhythms, the Dublin-based trio, softened their usual heavy distorted rock approach, to create more of an intimate piece. The single begins with an authoritative yet unfamiliar acoustic guitar that is then accompanied by dynamic drums. The song showcases a variety of musical elements, with compelling breathy harmonies, a soft underlying bassline, and even a short drum solo.

Dirty Power’s creativity doesn’t end at their music, as the thematic story arc shown in the trilogy of songs is further expressed in their specially made anime music videos. The intricate cartoons successfully help to illustrate the meaning behind the song, highlighting the complex nature of the world from war to the beauty of human spirit. The band added that they also chose this style of video because for many people it’s “a comfort and familiarity similar to watching Saturday morning cartoons”.

If you’re searching for a musically talented rock band full of innovative ideas and song concepts then make sure you keep an eye out for their new music, you’d be a fool not to.
