After drawing another blank in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion, Joelinton still has just the one goal for Newcastle United this term.
The 23-year-old found the back of the net as the Magpies recorded an impressive 1-0 victory away to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League late last month.
The Brazilian drew blanks against Watford and Liverpool though, before having another frustrating 90 minutes against Brighton at St. James’ Park.

However, rather than criticise the summer arrival for failing to find the back of the net, a whole host of Newcastle fans have insisted that they feel sorry for him.
Andy Carroll was introduced in the 81st minute to provide some much-needed help in the final third of the field, but Steve Bruce’s side could not find a late goal as the points were shared in the late kickoff.
In fairness to Bruce, Carroll replaced a defender in the shape of Jetro Willems late on. Brighton, though, certainly deserved a point following a strong showing at St James’ Park.
Joelinton will now be looking to return to the scoresheet against Leicester City next weekend, and it does appear that the forward has the support of the fans as many have sympathised with him on social media.
