Manchester United transfer updates: Tuesday June 25, 2019
After a disappointing sixth placed Premier League finish last time out, it was always expected to be a busy summer at Manchester United.
The good news is that there is still optimism around with the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replacing Jose Mourinho midway through last season.
Solskjaer will get to reshape the Manchester United squad in this, his first transfer window as manager of the Old Trafford side.
Daniel James has come in from Swansea and there are high hopes for the speedy winger.
However, there look very likely to be plenty of incomings and outgoings as the summer progresses.
On Tuesday afternoon, there are three updates regarding Crystal Palace right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Sporting Lisbon playmaker Bruno Fernandes and Romelu Lukaku’s potential exit to Inter Milan.
Manchester United’s Wan-Bissaka talks ongoing
The first two Manchester United transfer updates come via the reliable Simon Peach of the Press Association.
Peach reports that talks regarding Crystal Palace right back Aaron Wan-Bissaka are ongoing.
#MUFC continuing their push for #CPFC’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka ahead of pre-season getting under way on July 1. England’s early exit from the Under-21 European Championship should remove any hurdles re: medical & the like, but talks continue for now

Understand the frustration of #MUFC fans but signing a player like Wan-Bissaka isn't as easy as it was even two years ago. Prices have gone up & the financial muscle of smaller Premier League clubs means you can't bully them

Manchester United are keen on Bruno Fernandes
Perhaps of more interest from Peach, is the news that Manchester United are keen on Sporting Lisbon attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes.
Bruno Fernandes is a player that #MUFC like but I’m not getting the feeling that anything is imminent on that front. A number of Sporting’s players return for pre-season tomorrow, but Fernandes is currently on holiday in Dubai after helping Portugal to win the Nations League

Manchester United certainly need some guile from midfield and Fernandes has performed heroically for Sporting CP over the past two seasons.
Inter still trying to raise funds for Romelu Lukaku
The final Manchester United transfer update comes from the Daily Telegraph’s James Ducker.
He reports that Inter Milan are still trying to raise funds to sign Lukaku, by selling Mauro Icardi.
The Lukaku situation hasn’t changed. Inter still need to shift Icardi to raise the funds to move for Lukaku, with United determined to recoup their 2017 outlay. One example of this summer’s transfer window log jam #mufc

New Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of Lukaku and with Marcus Rashford thought to be number one striker at Old Trafford, the Belgian hitman could be set to leave this summer.
