Liverpool’s squad announcement for the club’s meeting with West Ham United this evening also saw the Reds reveal why James Milner is not available to feature.

Jurgen Klopp’s men are currently locked in action with the struggling Hammers at Anfield.
The two sides headed into proceedings on altogether-differing recent spells of form, and at opposite end of the Premier League table.
Hosts Liverpool are of course sitting pretty atop the English top-flight, having dropped just 2 points all season.
As such, another 3-point haul tonight would see the European champions take another considerable step towards a now-inevitable league title.
West Ham, on the other hand, are winless across all competitions since the 5th of January, a run of 7 straight games.

On the back of a disappointing Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid during the week, Jurgen Klopp opted for a strong XI, featuring star men Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and more.
However, one surprise omission from not only Liverpool’s starting XI, but the club’s matchday squad altogether, came in the form of James Milner.
The Premier League leaders have since moved to provide an explanation for the versatile veteran’s absence, though, with Milner ‘out as a precaution due to a slight muscle strain’:
