This month, the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London is celebrating its 90th anniversary, and as part of these, a new documentary film has been announced. Directed by Mary McCartney, daughter of Paul, the film – If These Walls Could Sing – explores the history of the studios, with the experiences and memories of various musicians who recorded there. A number of the many iconic artists who played there, or recorded film soundtracks, have been filmed for the documentary, including Paul McCartney, Elton John, Jimmy Page, Noel Gallagher, John Williams, George Lucas, and recounting their memories of recording various Pink Floyd albums, Roger Waters and David Gilmour. A trailer for the documentary has been released, and can be seen below. The documentary is due to be available for streaming on the Disney+ subscription service from 16th December 2022, and we suspect, later released on DVD and Blu-ray (although there are no details of that currently).

A Theatre For Dreamers audiobook releases include David Gilmour music
David Gilmour will release his first new song in five years – Yes, I Have Ghosts – via an upcoming audiobook (available from June 25th) for A Theatre for Dreamers, the latest novel by Gilmour's wife and long-time collaborator, Polly Samson. The recording also features music Gilmour wrote for the story to accompany Samson's narration. The wide release of Yes, I Have Ghosts will follow the audiobook, becoming available a week later.David said: Polly's vivid and poetic writing, coupled with her very natural narration voice, made joining forces to produce the audio version of A Theatre for Dreamers a fantastic and fulfilling experience. The two worlds seem to seamlessly link, and music can really help to bring audiobooks to life in unexpected new ways. We were also lucky to have our daughter Romany in lockdown with us to contribute harp and additional vocals. I am really pleased and proud of how Polly's words and my music have entwined in this audio version of A Theatre for Dreamers. Polly noted that We didn't set out to work together on the audiobook, but lockdown meant I had to narrate and I'm grateful to David for stepping into the producer's chair. We wanted to explore the creative possibilities of the format and produce something new, refreshing and innovative. Collaborating with David – as I have done many times over the last 30 years, writing songs for both Pink Floyd and his solo albums – we were able to bring together the worlds of literature and music to enhance the listening experience and connect with audiences in a way which I don't think has been done before. David said on his Facebook page that he was thrilled with how this has worked out. Sad for the actor who had to pull out but Polly Samson's narration surprised us all and it's been a great project for me during lockdown to also add some instrumental passages between chapters and to record the A Theatre for Dreamers inspired song, Yes, I Have Ghosts, with the help of our daughter, Romany. This release will be available in a variety of formats. On June 25th, it will become available via Amazon UK as part of its Audible offering (https://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B089WJ8PHB/braindamage-21) in an unabridged format, lasting 10 hours and 25 minutes. Coming on September 1st are a few other formats, looking at the publisher's (W. F. Howes Ltd) website – unabridged eAudio, an unabridged 10CD set, and an unabridged 1CD with the audio in MP3 format. Ordering details/links for these other formats aren't yet available, but we will update you when these are known, as indeed we will when details of the separate release of Yes, I Have Ghosts become available.

Roger Waters: This Is Not A Drill tour coming to Buenos Aires, Argentina
Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 21st 2023 (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2023-tour-zone/november-21st-estadio-river-plate-buenos-aires-arge.html). We suspect there will be more shows at the venue, and other venues in that part of the world. The current show is presented live in the round – a departure from Roger’s previous shows – and we wonder if there will be different staging for this stadium show due to the practicalities of the location. The production has already been seen in the US and Canada in the latter part of 2022, and Europe in early to mid 2023, showcasing both the new visuals, and the new set list. More details of that can be found in the show pages for concerts which have already taken place on Roger’s 2022 and 2023 tour – but don’t go there if you don’t want to have any surprises spoilt! Tickets for this show will go on sale first in an exclusive instance for Santander American Express customers, starting on Monday, May 8th at 10 am local time. This pre-sale will be open for 48 hours or until stock is exhausted, whichever comes first, and then leads to the general sale. The only official sales site is AllAccess (https://www.allaccess.com.ar/event/roger-waters).
