The 30 nominees for the Ballon d’Or were revealed on Monday.
The Premier League was heavily represented, with no less than 15 players from England’s top tier included on the list. Seven came from European champions Liverpool, five play for Manchester City whilst Tottenham had two of their own stars present and Arsenal had one.

However, there was no place for any of Chelsea’s men, which is surprising bearing in mind they won the Europa League last season. Of course, Eden Hazard was on the list and did play for the Blues last season, but he has since moved to Real Madrid so can’t really be considered a Blue.
It seems that the omission of 28-year-old N’Golo Kante has not gone down well with the Stamford Bridge faithful.
The France international signed for the Blues from Leicester City in 2016 for £30m (BBC Sport), and he is now established as one of the best central midfielders in the world.
The club’s supporters have taken to Twitter to share their disgust. You can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below.

Neymar’s omission on the #BallonDor shortlist is not surprising at all, besides, you have to play to get nominated.
What surprises me the most is the inclusion of Gini, and omission of Kane and Kante. ?
