“Get rid of the old guys” – Many Arsenal fans feel problem is solved if 24 y/o switches position

Arsenal supporters have preached that defender Calum Chambers should start at centre back in their next Premier League game against Sheffield United on Monday.

The 24-year-old has played five times on the right side of defence so far this campaign, and scored during the Gunners’ 3-2 victory against Aston Villa at the Emirates.

However, the Englishman has the ability to play as a centre-back, and was recently praised by manager Unai Emery after Arsenal’s 5-0 win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup.

The Spaniard credited Chambers for his versatility, after he played three different positions in the backline during the 90 minutes.

Chambers himself said he feels most comfortable as a centre-back, but also said that he learnt a lot playing in the defensive midfield role for Fulham.

Supporters are keen to see the 24-year-old start in the middle of the back four at Bramall Lane. One fan said that Unai Emery’s should “get rid of the old guys” to accomodate Chambers.
