We’ve decided to give everybody a little review of the summer internationals by deciding who has been each home nations best and worst player this weekend.
It proved to be a disastrous start for the Northern Hemisphere sides as all four lost to their Southern foes.
RESULTS:
- New Zealand 42-19 Ireland
- Australia 30-28 England
- South Africa 32-29 Wales
- Argentina 26-18 Scotland
Home nations best and worst players
IRELAND:
#BEST PLAYER: Peter O’Mahony
RTE 7/10: “Was outstanding in the opening quarter and never gave up in a tough environment, best of the back row.”
Independent 6/10: “The warrior did what he could to keep Ireland functioning and there were some trademark incursions but as it went on, he just became increasingly frustrated with Kark Dickson.”
#WORST PLAYER: Tadhg Furlong
RTE 5/10: “Ireland needed a big game from their world-class tighthead but he looked off the pace.”
Independent 5/10: “Quiet enough round the park which would suggest that the less than stable scrums were tough.”
Rugby Pass 4/10: “Virtually no impact around the field and twisted into all sorts of positions by Bower at the scrum.”
