Reports stemming from the Portuguese media suggest that Premier League giants Chelsea are the frontrunners to clinch a summer deal for Estoril wonderkid Chiquinho.
Portuguese prodigy
Francisco Jorge Tavares Oliveira, better known as Chiquinho, is a 20-year-old winger currently plying his trade with 2nd-tier outfit Estoril.
The attacker is widely-regarded as one of the finest young talents in all of Portuguese football, with his performances to this point in the current campaign having been particularly impressive.
In 32 appearances between youth and first-team duties, Chiquinho has notched 7 goals and an assist.
The starlet, who is generally deployed on the left flank, has also appeared on 4 occasions for Portugal at U20-level.
Chelsea bound?
As outlined above, though, if the latest speculation emerging from the Portuguese media is to be believed, then Chiquinho could be set for a summer Estoril departure.
His likely destination? The Premier League.
According to Record, Chelsea are leading a host of interested clubs in the race for the 20-year-old’s signature.
In fact, it is even claimed that the Blues have gone as far as to table an opening offer to Estoril.
London rivals West Ham, meanwhile, have also seemingly stepped forward with a bid of their own.
However, Chelsea’s proposal is viewed as a more ‘attractive’ one, making Stamford Bridge Chiquinho’s most likely destination upon the opening of the transfer window this summer.
