The French government has banned public gatherings of more than 5,000 people as the number of coronavirus cases in the country increased.
A temporary restriction for gatherings in confined spaces is now in place, and it is not yet known when it could be lifted.
It throws France’s home Six Nations finale against Ireland on March 14 into doubt as the COVID-19 virus continues to spread.
