Hello, hi and WELCOME to yet another instalment of me asking a poor unsuspecting artist a whole heap of questions, so that all you nosey Normans (soz Norman) reading can get to know all the juicy details from some of your fave music makers. This time round I was joined by the simply lovely Ella Rose Oliveras. Grab your elixir of choice, plonk yourself down and lets get to it!
What would you say first sparked your interest in music/who inspired you to make music?
My uncle was actually the person who inspired me to start writing and making music because of his passion that he had growing up, he was in bands and wanted to tour and when I was born we just got super close because of our love for music.
How would you describe the music you are currently creating?
I would say it’s always evolving, I love experimenting with music and different sounds, I just create what I’m proud of and what I think others will enjoy.
What does your creative process look like?
It starts in the very core of my bedroom, I usually get inspired by a melody that I come up with and the lyrics just start flowing. I love writing about personal situations or totally making something up because songwriting can be anything, you’re telling a story.
Who would you most like to collaborate with? (let’s send it out to the universe and make it happen!)
Definitely Post Malone or Frank ocean, that is a dream, I feel like some good tracks could be made there.
What is the one message you would like to send out to your fans?
If you’re passionate about something, do it regardless of what people tell you. You’re living your life, and your life only, so do it the way you want. I promise you no one cares as much as you think they do, everyone is more focused on themselves.
What’s your top tip to rejuvenate your creativity/get over a writer’s block?
I hate writers block so much but I literally just relax and be myself, definitely hang out with some family and friends, they bring out the best in me.
What’s next for you, what do we have to look forward to/ what are you currently working on?
More music is definitely on the way I’m always working on that, my biggest dream ever is to just do a genius interview, I think life will be complete after that.
