As 2019 draws to a close, Southern California rockers In Urgency enter a new chapter. After taking time to rest and regroup earlier in the year, In Urgency re-entered the studio, but this time as a trio with co-lead vocalist/guitarist Sam Mountain now taking the helm as primary frontman following co-lead vocalist Chris Andersonâs departure.
During the summer recording sessions with producer Daniel Wonacott (of Finch, Speak the Truth⦠& Bristol to Memory), In Urgency crafted a noticeably dynamic set of new songs that combines Mountainâs gritty Dave Grohl-esque vocals, giant rhythm guitars and melodic leads with bassist Michael Capuanoâs booming low end lines and drummer Javier Caudilloâs explosive and creative beats. Each song has a unique vibe that also stays true to the bandâs signature alternative/post-hardcore sound influenced by the likes of Anberlin, Breaking Benjamin and Thrice.
In Urgency plans to release their new material, mixed by Wonacott and mastered by well-known engineer Kris Crummett (Issues, Dance Gavin Dance, Sleeping With Sirens) as a series of singles. They will begin with âPeace & Quietâ on November 8 with more songs to come in the following months.
