Album Review: Tense Machine – ‘Echoes’

On May 1, Tense Machine released their debut album, Echoes. This three piece hard rock band from Toronto formed recently and released their first three songs, “Best Mistake,” “I Won’t Throw It Away,” and “Bottom Of The Bottle” in May 2019. Echoes opens with “Freak Like Me,” starting with a heavy guitar riff. “Best Mistake” is a perfect song to get played on active rock stations. The instrumental introduction of “Bottom of the Bottle” manages to catch your attention from the start. “Take Away the Pain” is a slower song that gets stuck in your head. The guitar solo in “Burned By You” is pretty impressive. Listening to “Dead Inside” gives me Pop Evil vibes. The final track on Echoes, “Taking You Out,” is intriguing and one of my favorite songs on the album. Echoes is definitely an album that grows on you the more that you listen to it. I’d recommend listening to “Nothing,” “Burned By You,” and “Taking You Out.”
