On March 13, Stitched Up Heart released Darkness. This album had been eagerly anticipated by fans for a while, as they had been dropping singles from it for months leading up to its release.
The first track on the album, âLost,â was released in June. It features Sully Erna from Godsmack, and its music video can be seen here. This song starts off with heavy instrumentals then goes into catchy vocals. âThis Skinâ has a melody thatâs memorable from the first time you hear it. The chorus of âProblemsâ is reminiscent of Stitched Up Heartâs really early work. âWarriorâ is another song that was released a couple of months ago, and the music video for it can be found here.
âDirty Secretsâ might be one of the favorite tracks on the album. I love the lyrics and how vocalistâs Mixi Demnerâs emotion is perfectly captured in the chorus. The title track, released in June, is another song with a catchy, sing-along chorus. âBonesâ is a slow song, but it does pick up and get heavy for a part of the track. After a bouncy, electronic start to the song, Darkness closes with âMy Demon.â
Iâve been listening to Stitched Up Heart for a long time, and itâs interesting to see how theyâve progressed as a band over the years. Itâs been nearly four years since their last album, but Darkness was definitely worth the wait.
