Wolves slam door shut on Man Utd, Liverpool as two huge deals ruled out

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is under no pressure from the club’s owners to sell top players such as Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez, according to reports.

Jimenez and Traore have become arguably Wolves’ best players in the past two seasons, scoring 46 goals and assisting 31 others between them since the start of last term.

However, recent reports have suggested that the pair could both be sold in the upcoming transfer window.

Mexico international Jimenez has been linked with Manchester United and Juventus, while Liverpool and Manchester City have been credited with interest in Traore.

According to the Daily Mirror, however, Wolves owners Fosun have informed Portuguese coach Nuno that he does not have to cash in on the club’s success over the past two seasons.

Instead, the manager will be allowed to keep Jimenez and Traore – as well as other top talent such as Ruben Neves and Joao Moutinho – as Wolves press to finish the season in the top four.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly earmarked a striker as one of his top priorities in the upcoming transfer window, with Jimenez said to be among his top targets.

Other reports have suggested that Juventus have proposed a swap deal to bring Jimenez to Turin.

Traore, meanwhile, has been told to avoid a move to Liverpool over fears that his game time under Jurgen Klopp would hinder the progress he has made since moving to Molineux from Middlesbrough two summers ago.
