France’s quest for a first Grand Slam in 10 years is still in their grasp as they pulled off a fine 27-23 win over Wales at the Principaility Stadium on Saturday – their first win in Cardiff since 2010.
France livewire Romain Ntamack finished with 17-point haul – including a try – as Anthony Bouthier and Paul Willemse also scored tries.
Dan Biggar scored 18 points in response for Wales, which included a try.
Prop Dillon Lewis also scored his first international try but it wasn’t enough for the hosts.
RUCK’S MAN OF THE MATCH – Romain Ntamack (France)
Best player: Romain Ntamack
Romain Ntamack: The brightest spark in an electric French performance. The fly half was at the centre of most things France did well in attack and did his fair share in defence. The 20-year-old was metronomic with the boot and bagged himself a try to cap off a fine afternoon.
Underpeformer: Dan Biggar
Dan Biggar: Despite an impressive 18-point haul, Wales’ fulcrum spent too much time directing his complaints towards the officials. His ill-discipline was widely condemned on social media as he was outshone by his opposite number, a fly-half ten years his junior.
