An insight into Tottenham’s current transfer plans has been provided on Thursday.
Tottenham eyeing a striker
Tottenham have already secured the services of three players in this window.
Those, of course, being Joe Hart, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Matt Doherty, with the latter two of that trio no doubt the more exciting to the Spurs faithful.
Now, with around a month left of this transfer window, Tottenham look to be eyeing attacking reinforcements. The Evening Standard are reporting that the Lilywhites have now turned their attentions to a striker.
In terms of some potential targets, the ES report that Bournemouth’s Joshua King and Uruguayan Darwin Nunez are amongst the players they have been offered.
Tottenham have also been linked with King’s teammate at Bournemouth, Callum Wilson – though Newcastle and Aston Villa now appear to be leading the race for the hitman.
Aurier holding deal up
However, any potential plans to bring in a striker this summer are being held up.
The reason for this, according to the above-linked report from the Evening Standard, is because of Spurs’ inability to move on Serge Aurier.
As we have previously covered, Doherty’s arrival at the Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium was expected to pave the way for Aurier to leave the club.
However, neither of AC Milan or Bayer Leverkusen, the two sides believed to be interested in the Ivorian, have come close to Tottenham’s valuation of the player, as per the ES.
It is added that Tottenham need to sell before they can buy again and Aurier represents their best chance of raising funds.
Argentine duo Juan Foyth and Paulo Gazzaniga are also understood to be available.
