Lukaku’s Chelsea stint
Romelu Lukaku would make his long-awaited return to Chelsea over the summer.
This would be followed by the Belgian hitting the ground running at Stamford Bridge, netting three in his first three Premier League outings.
However, Lukaku’s form then dipped off a fair bit before he picked up an injury that kept him out of four PL ties.
Lukaku returned in gameweek 13, but his minutes were limited, something which was then not helped by him catching Covid-19.
Things then looked to have turned a corner for the former Inter Milan hitman when he scored two and assisted one in Chelsea’s last two league outings.
Tuchel explains how to get best out of Lukaku
However, a Lukaku interview from three weeks ago was then published, in which the striker claimed he was not happy with the situation at Chelsea:
Romelu Lukaku to @SkySport: “Physically I am fine. But I’m NOT happy with the situation at Chelsea. Tuchel has chosen to play with another system – I won’t give up, I’ll be professional. I am not happy with the situation but I am professional – and I can’t give up now”. 🔵 #CFC pic.twitter.com/KGNoJ10cwp

In particular, Lukaku seemed to take issue with Tuchel’s system, which is a 3-4-3 with one striker, not the 3-5-2 Lukaku enjoyed so much success in under Antonio Conte in Italy.
Now though, rather than scolding Lukaku in public, Tuchel has explained how to get the best out of him.
When asked how to do this, the Chelsea boss stated:
“Training, training, playing. Training, playing, training, sleeping, eating good, training, playing, sleeping, eat good, drink a lot of water, sleep, train and don’t give interviews.”
