Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets – UK tour moves to 2022

In a move which should come as no surprise to anyone, it has just been announced that the 2021 UK tour of Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets has had to move due to the current pandemic affecting people the world over. The dates have all moved from April/May this year to the same period next year (2022). In the announcement, the band apologise “for any inconvenience these changes might cause; the band are desperate to perform, but have to ensure the experience is a safe one for everyone!” It makes perfect sense to postpone the shows now, giving people some notice, rather than holding on and hoping that the vaccination rollout proceeds at pace, AND that the virus recedes so that shows can take place. We would be amazed to see any shows take place for a while. Obviously, there were European dates scheduled for May – July, but at this stage, there’s no official word on what might be happening with those – or indeed, if there are any plans for shows elsewhere, a question we get frequently. We’re sure most people are aware of how moved shows work now – keep hold of your tickets as they are automatically valid for the new dates, and there’s no need to contact whoever you bought your tickets through to get new ones, or confirm attendance at the new date. Today we bring you the news that we're pretty sure 99% of you have been expecting. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the UK dates lined up for October 2020 for Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets have been postponed until April/May next year when things will hopefully be a little more settled and a sense of some normality will have returned. At the moment, we'd be amazed if any indoor concerts happen this year.The press release for the move rightly notes the uncertainty surrounding us all due to the pandemic, and makes it clear that it is important to the band that those who are planning to attend the shows are able to do so safely and without concern for their health and wellbeing. To achieve this, and to allow people the opportunity to plan their travel to and from the concerts, postponing until April 2021 was the best option. With the move of the shows, they've managed to add three new dates to the schedule, and have had to cancel two of the existing shows as they were unable to reschedule them. So, the shows in Gateshead and Southampton have now gone, but have been replaced with shows in Newcastle and Portsmouth, which were as close as they could manage to the original locations. Holders of tickets for the cancelled shows can receive a refund from their ticket provider. In a move that surely will not come as a surprise to any of us, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets have been forced to postpone their UK, Irish and European 2020 concerts due to the current COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic. In a statement, they have said that the safety and wellbeing of the fans, the crew and band members are of paramount importance to those involved in the Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets UK and European tour that was due to start in Guildford on April 23. Under the advice of the government due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the unilateral decision by the theatres to close at these uncertain times, we have had to postpone the UK shows until October.
