Well, they’re back! Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets have started their 2024 Set The Controls tour, with what sounds like an incredible night in Stoke. With a new tour, there’s always the thought that there will be a revised set list, and the 2024 edition of the band’s repetoire included some surprises. Rather than spoil anything here, if you head to the Stoke concert page (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/nick-mason-s-sos-2024/june-11th-victoria-hall-stoke-on-trent-en.html) you will be able to see the new set list, which we’re sure you won’t be expecting certain elements of! We’re also adding some pictures we’ve very kindly been sent by Rob Sadler (who also contributed the picture shown here, too) to that show page. As ever, if you go to ANY of the shows, and would like to share your thoughts, and/or your pictures, with the wider Floyd community, we’d love to see them! Simply email matt@brain-damage.co.uk with your contributions and we’ll include what we can! For those going to any upcoming shows, we hope you have a great time. There are still a few tickets left for some of the venues, so if you haven’t yet got yours, make sure you snap them up as soon as you can to avoid disappointment!

David Gilmour adds Los Angeles concert
Just announced is a further date on the US leg of David Gilmour’s upcoming tour – David and his band will be performing at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Los Angeles, California, on Friday, October 25th (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/october-25th-intuit-dome-inglewood-los-angeles-c.html). This latest addition to David’s 2024 Luck and Strange live shows is this show in a venue that is undergoing the final stages of its construction, and it sounds a most interesting building. The architect, AECOM, notes that the “Intuit Dome will be naturally ventilated, fully electric through batteries and solar power with enough on-site energy storage to power a basketball game or concert, and have no net new greenhouse gas emissions.” To qualify for the pre-sale, which starts on June 12th at 10am local time, you need to sign up at DavidGilmour.com (https://www.davidgilmour.com/uspresale) beforehand to get the pre-sale code. There’s also a venue pre-sale which begins on June 13th at 10am local time. Tickets will then go on general sale at 10am local time on Friday, June 14th, through this link at Ticketmaster (https://www.ticketmaster.com/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001).
Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett & Pink Floyd – DVD/Blu-ray/Digital
Just announced: the DVD and Blu-ray, and digital release, of Have You Got It Yet? The Story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd is coming on July 19th, 2024. The critically acclaimed – and fan acclaimed – documentary film Have You Got It Yet? is a compelling dive
into the life and genius of Syd. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Roddy Bogawa and the late, acclaimed album cover designer Storm Thorgerson, the feature length documentary drew praise for its candid glimpse into the prismatic character and artistry of Pink Floyd founder Syd Barrett. Released in cinemas worldwide in Summer 2023, Have You Got It Yet? achieved a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a successful theatrical run with many sold-out screenings. Intimate interviews with band members David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Roger Waters uncover Barrett’s ongoing impact on the group. Going a step further, the film also includes an interview with Syd’s sister, Rosemary Breen. Narrated by actor Jason Isaacs, the film also features original band managers Peter Jenner and Andrew King, as well as The Who’s Pete Townshend and Blur’s Graham Coxon. In addition to the full-length film, the joint DVD and Blu-ray set includes a plethora of bonus features. Two poignant live performances of Arnold Layne are highlighted â the first features David Gilmour David Bowie (originally released in Gilmour’s Remember That Night Live At The Royal Albert Hall, 2007). The second is a performance from 2007’s The Madcap’s Last Laugh â a tribute concert held at London’s Barbican for Syd Barrett featuring Gilmour, Mason, and Richard Wright in their
final performance as Pink Floyd. Additionally, the DVD and Blu-ray includes an interview with Bogawa and director producer commentary of the film with Bogawa, Rupert Truman, and Julius Beltrame. Further exploring his creative works, the set features discussions surrounding Barrett’s paintings, and spoken word performances of Barrett’s lyrics by comedian Noel Fielding (Dark Globe), poet Rob Fitterman (Rats) and actor Gerard Bell (Lucifer Sam). The package, designed by StormStudios, is completed with an exclusive Have You Got It Yet? poster, which was also designed by the studio. Ordering details will follow here shortly – we’ll update this story accordingly. The documentary is a fascinating and moving look at Barrett and we heartily recommend it. It’s great news that it is finally getting a physical/digital release, enabling those who are yet to see it, the opportunity.
David Gilmour adds Hollywood Bowl, LA, and Madison Square Garden, NYC shows
Just announced: a third Hollywood Bowl, LA show (October 31st) and a fourth Madison Square Garden, NYC show (November 9th). This means there are now a total of seven shows across both cities, which are the only North American locations for David Gilmour’s 2024 concert dates (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/index.php). David and his band are playing on October 29th, 30th and 31st at the Hollywood Bowl, before heading up to New York City for performances at Madison Square Garden on November 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th. Tickets for all the North American shows go on general sale at 10am local time tomorrow (Friday, May 17th) from this direct link at Ticketmaster.com (https://www.ticketmaster.com/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001). Presales for most of the shows have already taken place and have proved extremely popular, so we don’t expect remaining tickets to hang around for long. And, as a reminder, the Italian shows in Rome go on general sale tomorrow morning too, through this link at Ticketone.it (https://www.ticketone.it/en/artist/david-gilmour/).

David Gilmour announces US shows in Los Angeles, CA, and New York, NY
this link at Ticketmaster (https://www.ticketmaster.com/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001). Gilmour and his band will be playing at the legendary Hollywood Bowl, in Los Angeles, California, on Tuesday 29th (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/october-29th-hollywood-bowl-hollywood-los-angeles-c.html) and Wednesday 30th October (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/october-30th-hollywood-bowl-hollywood-los-angeles-c.html), before heading up to New York City, New York, for a brace of shows at Madison Square Garden, in Manhattan, on Monday 4th (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/november-4th-madison-square-garden-new-york-city-n.html) and Tuesday 5th November (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/2024-david-gilmour-tour-zone/november-5th-madison-square-garden-new-york-city-n.html). That last date – 5th November, is not just National Doughnut Day in America, but also the day of the US election, where the next president will be voted on and elected. David played two nights in both venues in 2016 on his last tour, so it’s not a huge surprise to see him return to them. For the 2024 dates, these will be the ONLY North American cities, and join the dates in London, England, and Rome, Italy on the schedule. You can sign up to the official David Gilmour newsletter (http://davidgilmour.com/uspresale) to get exclusive ticket pre-sale access. The pre-sale will launch Wednesday, May 15th, 10am local. The window to qualify for the pre-sale ends at 1pm PT / 4pm ET on Tuesday May 14th. Pre-sale codes will be sent out later that day. Tickets will then go on general sale at 10am local on Friday, May 17th from this link at Ticketmaster (https://www.ticketmaster.com/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001).

David Gilmour announces six nights of concerts in Rome, Italy
official David Gilmour Italian Album Store (https://DavidGilmour.lnk.to/storeIT) (including those who have already done so), with the general sale of tickets beginning on Friday, May 17th via this link at Ticketone.it (https://www.ticketone.it/en/artist/david-gilmour/) Other than the store presale, there is a Virgin Radio Presale at this link (https://www.ticketone.it/virginradio), from May 15th at 9am until May 16th at 11:59pm. There’s also a Sonyo Presale running at the same time as the Virgin Radio Presale. As with the Royal Albert Hall tickets, we suspect these shows – the only ones that will be performed in mainland Europe – will be extremely popular. The capacity of the venue should be higher than the London venue, so hopefully plenty of fans will be able to secure tickets.
David Gilmour announces string of London Royal Albert Hall gigs – only UK concerts
JUST ANNOUNCED: David Gilmour is doing six nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall in October 2024, to coincide with the release of his new album Luck and Strange, which comes out on September 6th (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/david-gilmour-luck-and-strange-new-album-announced.html). Gilmour and his band will be playing the legendary venue on October 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th and 15th, and tickets go on sale next week (full details below). In the recent Uncut interview (https://www.brain-damage.co.uk/latest/exclusive-david-gilmour-interview-in-new-uncut-magazine.html) Gilmour talks about the mechanics of sorting out the set list for the tour, which should include the new album, but also selected Pink Floyd songs from over the years. The band is yet to be announced but he notes that “I thought we’d get people who are genuinely creative and give them a little more space. That’s the plan. So we’re going to have some of the younger guys alongside Guy [Pratt] and the Webb Sisters, who sang with Leonard Cohen on his last tours”. It is worth noting that the six shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall are the entirety of his UK performances this time around. We suspect there could be dates in other countries announced in due course. Tickets for these concerts go on sale in two stages. Fans in the UK/Ireland pre-ordering Luck and Strange from the official David Gilmour UK Album Store (https://davidgilmour.com/rah) will get first access to tickets, via an exclusive ticket pre-sale on Thursday 9th May through Ticketmaster UK (https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001). If you have, or intend to, order from elsewhere, there IS, however, a “No purchase necessary” option you can select at David’s store to get the pre-sale code without having to cancel your existing order. The window to qualify for the pre-sale ends at 3pm UK on Wednesday, May 8th, with all existing pre-orders from the official David Gilmour UK Album Store also eligible. Pre-sale codes will be sent out later that day. Tickets will then go on general sale at 10am UK on Friday, May 10th, through this link at Ticketmaster UK (https://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/david-gilmour-tickets/artist/769001). We are sure that demand will be high for these special concerts.
