Roger Waters performing during Assange march tomorrow

Announced today is a march for Julian Assange, which is taking place tomorrow (22nd February, 2020) in London, and as part of the announcement, Roger Waters has noted that he will be performing during the event.The march for Assange goes from Australia House, Aldwych, to Parliament Square. They note that Assange's full extradition trial begins the following Monday (24th February) and that the Trump administration is seeking to put Assange in jail for 175 years for publishing the Afghan and Iraq War Logs .They will assemble from 11:30am GMT, to leave Australia House at 12:30pm. Others participating will include Chrissie Hynde, Brian Eno, Vivienne Westwood and MIA.Obviously we don't know the nature of Roger's performance, but many of you will recall that he played Wish You Were Here in a similar, yet smaller, protest back in September 2019, again in London. Second night in Mexico City for Roger Waters 2020 tour

Palacio de los Deportes (2020-tour-zone/october-8th-palacio-de-los-deportes-mexico-city-m.html). The show will take place on October 8th, 2020 (2020-tour-zone/october-8th-palacio-de-los-deportes-mexico-city-m.html) (with the first show taking place on the 7th) and tickets for this new date go on sale on Thursday, February 20th at 11am CST, through this link at Ticketmaster.com.mx (https://www.ticketmaster.com.mx/promo/rhfagy). Roger's upcoming tour is, as normal, shrouded in secrecy, but as the tour posters reveal it is a first for Roger as it is being presented in the round . This basically means that the stage is sat in the middle of the floor level of the venue, with the band and performance being aimed at those sat all around. This should also mean that most seats in the venue will have an excellent view! Should additional shows be announced for Mexico, or elsewhere, we will of course let you know as soon as we can!

Nick Mason’s Saucerful Of Secrets Roundhouse Blu-ray – NO region coding confirmed!

The announcement of Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets: Live At The Roundhouse, coming via Sony Records on April 17th, 2020 as a 2CD/DVD package, on double vinyl and on Blu-ray, has gone down very well with those who have already seen the band perform, and with those who haven't yet had the opportunity! These releases include the show in its entirety, and the video formats include some additional footage including interviews and rehearsals.The pair of Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets shows at London's Roundhouse on May 3rd and 4th were recorded with a grand total of 18(!) cameras were pressed into action on the second night. These included remotely operated cameras, and one suspended on wires which flew back and forth above the audience. The result of this expensive and challenging filming and recording exercise (cameras were positioned to minimise any impact on the audience) looks spectacular on the footage we've seen so far.This week, Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B083XWMFWG/braindamage-20) have alarmed some by noting that the Blu-ray edition won't be compatible in North America and other countries. Roger Waters has just announced that he will be joining the bill of this coming Monday's (February 17th) concert to honour a very special drummer. Eric Clapton Friends: A Tribute to Ginger Baker takes place at London's Eventim Apollo (formerly the Hammersmith Odeon).The set list for the concert will look to honour Baker's lifetime in music and will, of course, include Clapton and Baker's work together in Cream and Blind Faith. The event will be held in aid of Leonard Cheshire, a charity close to the Baker family, which supports disabled individuals to live, learn and work as independently as they choose, whatever their ability, at the heart of local life – opening doors to opportunity, choice and support in communities around the globe.The rest of the line-up has yet to be announced; tickets for the concert sold out a long time ago, unsurprisingly.Some of you will be aware that this won't be the first time that Eric and Roger will have worked together on stage – Roger's 1984 Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking tour included Eric on guitar in the band, to great acclaim. Roger's announcement of this earlier today on his social media was quite low key, and follows an earlier video he posted running through the chords of Sunshine Of Your Love, without explanation of why he was doing it. Now we know!UPDATE: The line up for the Tribute consisted of Eric Clapton, Paul Carrack, Chris Stainton, Sonny Emory, Steve Gadd, Willie Weeks, Katie Kissoon and Sharon White. The special guests were Steve Winwood, Roger Waters, Nile Rodgers, Ronnie Wood, Kofi Baker, Kenney Jones, Henry Spinetti and Will Johns.Roger appeared on the first three songs on the night: Sunshine Of Your Love, Strange Brew and White Room. The encore was a cover of Robert Johnson's Cross Road Blues, which featured all the artists, and notably Roger Waters on cowbell for the last half of the song!There were discrete cameras around the venue, certainly to show the musicians on the screen at the rear of the stage – we are hoping that the performance was recorded for eventual release. We'll keep you posted on that front…

Just announced by Polly Samson are a set of three evenings of words and music to celebrate [her] new novel, A Theatre For Dreamers, with Polly Samson, David Gilmour and guests .This special event will feature Polly in conversation with journalist Rosie Boycott, readings, film and live music, including a new song Yes, I Have Ghosts written by David and Polly. On his social media channels, David notes that he'll be performing a few songs, including [the] new one. The event description notes that The audience will be transported to the Greek island of Hydra in 1960, and a world dancing on the edge of revolution, where a circle of poets, painters, writers and musicians live tangled lives. Itâ€™s a story of utopian dreams and innocence lost, of the troubled King and Queen of Bohemia, Charmian Clift and George Johnson, of a young poet named Leonard Cohen, and his Marianne; and of Erica Hart, an 18-year-old in search of answers.
