Harlequins are pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Laidlaw as Assistant Coach, specialising in defence for Harlequins Women ahead of the 2024/25 PWR season.
Laidlaw joins Quins from the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU), where he led the coaching setup for Glasgow Warriors Women in the Celtic Challenge. Prior to this role, he previously served as Attack Coach for Scotland Women during the 2023 Guinness Six Nations.
The son of former Scotland scrum-half Roy, and cousin of Grieg, Laidlaw was previously one of Scottish Rugby’s Performance Development coaches in the women’s game.
The former fly-half also worked as Interim Head Coach for Scotland Women 7s in 2021, helping them secure a first ever Commonwealth Games spot.
Commenting on his appointment, Laidlaw said “The brand of rugby is something that excites me and how I’ll be able to bring that to life on the defensive side of the ball.
“Having spoken with some of the Scotland girls and the coaching team, it seems like a really good place to come and be part of something that’s heading in a really positive direction.”
