Solskjaer makes 4 changes, Greenwood starts: Man Utd’s predicted line-up vs Wolves – opinion

After thrashing Norwich 4-0 in the Premier League at the weekend, Manchester United’s attentions turn back once again to the FA Cup. The Red Devils were held to a draw by Wolves in the third round at Molineux, and they face them again in the replay on Wednesday evening.

After going trophy-less last season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men will no doubt be hoping to lift some silverware at the end of this campaign, and winning the FA Cup certainly represents an achievable objective. So whilst the Norwegian may look to bring in a couple of youngsters and fringe players into the team in mid-week, he may retain most of the side that served him so well against the Canaries on Saturday.

As the designated cup goalkeeper this season, number two Sergio Romero will come into the side to replace David de Gea in between the sticks. In front of him, Diogo Dalot and Phil Jones may come in for Brandon Williams and Harry Maguire, with the latter remarkably managing to get back to full fitness so soon after appearing to sustain a hip injury.

After being praised by United fans in the clash against Norwich, Nemanja Matic will be hoping to get another chance to shine for the team amid recent reports suggesting the club may now be prepared to offer him a new deal. Alongside him, the ever-present Fred who has now made 25 appearances across all competitions this season, will likely help form a midfield duo.

And following a scintillating attacking display that saw Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial all get on the score-sheet against Norwich, Solskjaer may be tempted to start with all three. That could see Juan Mata – another man who was widely lauded by fans of the Manchester side after Saturday afternoon – move into a more central position to wreak havoc.

Meanwhile, this Manchester United ace’s wholly ineffective display against Norwich delivered a major warning to Ed Woodward.
