Serie A giants chase loan deal for Christian Eriksen

New Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte is hoping to make a move for Christian Eriksen in January, according to a report.

The Daily Express report that Conte “has signalled that he wants to bring Eriksen to the San Siro when the window opens again”.

The Tottenham playmaker, who has featured in all of Spurs’ games this season, looked all set to leave London in the summer, but no concrete offers arrived for the Denmark international.

Manchester United were understood to be interested, but Eriksen rebuffed the chance to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s revolution.

Spurs are believed to have offered a new deal worth around £200,000 a week – but Eriksen snubbed all the talks in the summer as he looked to move on.

A move never materialised for the 27-year-old though and he will be free to leave next summer when his deal expires, unless he signs a new deal.

The report claims Inter, who like other European clubs, can speak to Eriksen in January with a view to signing him for free next summer, will propose a loan deal with Tottenham to receive a fee.

Eriksen had declared he was looking for a fresh challenge in the summer, and yesterday he claimed that searching for a move was not a mistake.

“No, it wasn’t. But it is football and you never know what happens in football. Many things always come into play.

“I wish I could decide just like in Football Manager, but unfortunately I can’t,” Eriksen told Ekstra Bladet while on Euro 2020 international duty.”
