RUMOUR | Wasps linked with move for Exeter Chiefs fan favourite

One of the heroes of Argentina’s historic victory over New Zealand has been linked by The Rugby Paper with a move to Wasps.

Santiago Cordero established himself as fan favourite during his time with Exeter Chiefs and will be a free agent next summer when his contract with Bordeaux-Begles expires.

When he left Sandy Park, Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter pointed to salary cap restrictions as a reason why they could not retain the 26-year-old’s services.

Cordero has told his representatives that he wants to return to the Gallagher Premiership, which kicked off talks with his former employers.

However, Wasps are reportedly the new favourite to sign Cordero as they have more room in their salary cap to make him a better offer.

The black and golds did very little in-bound business this summer with Ryan Mills being the headline name, making the switch from Worcester Warriors.
