Just months after hanging up his boots and retiring from professional football, a true legend of the game in Robin van Persie will be joining Rio Ferdinand and Co as the newest member of BT Sport’s punditry team.
Ferdinand confirmed so in his latest Instagram snap in which he welcomed his ex-teammate to the family and posted a long message saying how he enjoyed working with him before, and that their partnership will no doubt be equally successful in a suit and a tie.
The now 35-year-old was a part of the Red Devils family after he made a move to Old Trafford in 2012, joining from Arsenal.
Van Persie ended up having a really successful career in a United shirt.
He made a total of 105 appearances, scoring 58 goals and tallying 21 assists along the way. He even won the Premier League title in 2013.
The Dutchman also posted a reply to Ferdinand, thanking him for the kind words but also asking that he goes easy on the pranks which are sure to follow pretty soon.
