Brewster’s time at Liverpool
Ryan Brewster moved from Chelsea to Liverpool’s youth set up in July of 2015.
Since then Brewster has featured 11 times for Liverpool’s under-18 side and 21 times for their under-23s.
In those games, Brewster has managed to score 14 and assist 13.
However, the 19-year-old has yet to feature for Liverpool’s senior side.
You would think a big reason for that was because of his ankle injury.
Brewster was out of action between January of 2018 and March 2019 after having ankle surgery.
Klopp on Brewster
However, Brewster looks to be finally back to full fitness.
With Liverpool players returning to training on Saturday, Klopp has been speaking about Brewster and the role he could play next season.
After Daniel Sturridge left the club last month, Liverpool are now a man short up top.
But it does look as though Brewster will play a part in Liverpool’s attack next season with Klopp claiming he will play an important role for the Reds:
“Rhian is a really big talent. We’re really looking forward to seeing him in training.
“It will be an important role for us, we’ve planned an important role for him.” As quoted by Sky Sports.
Klopp also spoke about having Joe Gomez, Brewster, Adam Lallana and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back fit for the forthcoming campaign:
“After a lot of problems last year, if these boys can really stay fit then that’s completely different to last year for the team because there is real quality.
“Hopefully we can give them the time because it’s a while since they had competitive games.
“We start pretty intensely against Tranmere after only a few days’ training then onto Bradford.” As quoted by Sky Sports.
