Aubameyang no longer Arsenal captain
The headline news at Arsenal over the last few days has, of course, centred around Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The forward would miss out on Arsenal’s meeting with Southampton this past weekend due to a disciplinary breach.
It was explained that Aubameyang was dropped due to a late return from a recent trip abroad:

It has since been confirmed by Arsenal that Aubameyang has been stripped of the Arsenal captaincy:

Who will be Arsenal’s captain vs West Ham?
With Aubameyang no longer captain, Mikel Arteta is left with the task of handing the armband to someone new.
However, Arsenal have a fairly young squad that lacks a lot of experienced leaders. One of the more obvious choices would have been Granit Xhaka, but the midfielder has already been stripped of the armband once himself.
Now though, an insight into who could be captain for Arsenal’s upcoming meeting with West Ham has been provided.
And, though not seemingly a permanent solution, the Telegraph report that Alexandre Lacazette is expected to wear the armband vs the Hammers on Wednesday:
Lacazette wore the captain’s armband in Aubameyang’s absence against Saturday, and is expected to do so again on Wednesday.
