A fresh pair of insights into Ferran Torres’ imminent move to La Liga giants Barcelona have been provided on Friday.

The name of Spanish international Torres has of course taken its place front and centre in the European media chatter over the course of the last week.

As per a report from Spanish outlet Diario Sport, despite the winter market having not technically even opened yet, Torres will arrive in Barcelona next Monday, the 27th of December, before being unveiled to the club’s fanbase 24 hours later:

A further report on the part of Sport, meanwhile, has also delved into how the latest addition to Barca’s frontline is likely to be utilised by new boss Xavi.

It is suggested that Torres, who can of course line out comfortably either on the wing or through the middle, is set to be made use of in a false 9 role in Catalunya, with Xavi having been impressed by the youngster’s efforts in such a role in Manchester.
