An insight into the early stance of newly appointed Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez when it comes to the futures of those currently under his watch in Catalunya has been provided on Friday night.
Reinforcements eyed
The subject of transfers has of course proven headline news at the Camp Nou over recent weeks.
This comes as the aforementioned Xavi goes about piecing together a squad capable of guiding Barcelona away from the depths of mid-table in La Liga, back towards the club’s rightful spot at the top of Spanish and European football alike.
In turn, a whole host of names have been tipped as potential January arrivals in the Catalan capital, with a swoop for Manchester City attacker Ferran Torres understood to be well underway:

🤝 Pep ha accedido a dejarle salir si hay acuerdo económico entre clubs.

Reports stemming from Argentina over the course of the day, meanwhile, have also highlighted River Plate starlet Julian Alvarez as a prime Blaugrana target:

Nico amongst those off limits
What, though, of those potentially set to make way for such arrivals at the Camp Nou?
Well, as alluded to above, an insight into precisely that has been provided late on Friday night. And the news, if accurate, will no doubt come as quite the shock to those of a Barcelona persuasion.
As per Spanish journalist Jordi Grau, speaking during an interview with OnzeTV3, just three players have been identified as ‘untouchable’ on the part of Xavi over the early weeks of his stint back in Catalunya.
The trio in question? La Masia graduates Ansu Fati, Gavi and Nico.
Each and every remaining member of Barca’s squad will therefore be required to prove their worth over the months ahead, as Xavi prepares to showcase his little-seen ruthless streak at the club.
