REPORTS | Three Racing 92 stars linked with Premiership moves

France international winger Teddy Thomas has been identified as a long-term target by Harlequins boss Paul Gustard, according to reports in France.

Quins are looking for a high-profile wide man after Vereniki Goneva and Gabriel Ibitoye both departed Twickenham Stoop.

The 26-year-old, who has 11 tries in his 19 France caps, is also attracting interest from Toulouse.

Meanwhile, following reports of interest, Midi Olympique claim that Gloucester have made a ‘colossal offer’ to Virimi Vakatawa in an attempt to lure him to Kingsholm.

The 28-year-old will be out of contract next summer, and The Rugby Paper had reported that the Fijian-born powerhouse had tasked his agent with securing him a move to England.

Bath and Northampton Saints are also believed to have expressed an interest in 24-cap France international, who was the top scorer in the Top 14 in 2019/20 before the season was abandoned having crossed the line for 13 tries

Another report in France suggests out of contract Simon Zebo could be joining London Irish, but they do not cite a source for this report.

The 30-year-old, who accumulated 35 Ireland caps between 2012 and 2017, will also not be offered a new deal by the Parisians.

Rugby’s best free agents at the end of next season

Some of world’s greats are into the final year of their contracts and there are some huge names who could leave for free next summer…

1. Joe Launchbury (Wasps)

The 29-year-old, who signed a two-year extension in 2019, has 62 international caps and was part of the England squad that reached the World Cup final in Japan. New Leicester head coach Steve Borthwick is a huge fans of the second-row, and will look to pursue Launchbury if Wasps can’t get him to sign a new deal.

2. Jonathan Joseph (Bath)

The centre is thought to be out of contract in 2021 after last extending his deal at the Rec in 2019. Joseph, who joined the club in 2013 from London Irish, has 51 caps for his country while he also toured New Zealand with the Lions in 2017.

3. Huw Jones (Glasgow Warriors)

In 2017, Glasgow Warriors announced that Jones had signed a contract until at least 2021. However, if reports are to be believed, the Scotland centre is keen on a move to the Gallagher Premiership with Leicester Tigers very interested.
