Ahead of joining us for a headline show at the Finsbury on the 28th of February, we’ve got an exclusive preview of Simple Fiction’s anthemic new track ‘Follow’.
Speaking of the track, Simple Fiction shared, “FOLLOW is inspired by the fear of being left alone to face the problems in your head, whilst trying to distract yourself with company. It’s about chasing after unwanted social situations and hoping that the time spent distracting yourself will fix the things that you’re avoiding. Overall, ‘FOLLOW’ is about the reluctancy to tackle the mental issues we face and the futile steps we take to avoid the problems within ourselves.”
‘Follow’ is unquestionably one of the band’s best releases yet. The track’s enthralling and easily accessible lyricism is perfectly complemented by the track’s thundering instrumentation. It sees the band at their most introspective yet, but somehow that deep contemplation has still resulted in a phenomenally relatable track. With ‘Follow’, Simple Fiction have re-emerged with emboldened purpose, creating a track that tackles a hard-hitting issue with poignancy.
We can’t wait to hear Simple Fiction deliver ‘Follow’ and an array of other outstanding tracks when they descend on the Finsbury later this month. Support on the night comes from Idolising Nova and North Parade. Tickets are available here for what’s set to be an unmissable night of indie music.
