Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has this evening confirmed that Raheem Sterling will be available to feature in the club’s upcoming meeting with Real Madrid.
Real Madrid vs Man City
One of, if not the tie of the Champions League round-of-16 is set to take place tomorrow night.
European football’s most successful club, Real Madrid, will welcome English champions Man City to the Bernabeu.
Visitors City are set to head into proceedings on the superior form of the two sides, having secured 3 points in each of their last 2 Premier League outings.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, are winless in their last 2 in La Liga, including a shock 1-0 defeat to Levante at the weekend.
Los Blancos are also set to be without the services of key man Eden Hazard, after Zinedine Zidane confirmed that the injury picked up by the Belgian over the weekend could see him ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.
‘He’s ready’
Manchester City, though, have also been sweating over the fitness of a star attacker ahead of tomorrow night’s showdown.
Raheem Sterling has missed the Sky Blues’ last two outings, after picking up a hamstring issue at the beginning of the month.
As such, the English international was also viewed as a major doubt to feature at the Bernabeu.
As confirmed by Pep Guardiola this evening, though, in a boost to City’s prospects, Sterling has returned to full fitness, and will be available from the off in 24 hours’ time:
‘His natural physical condition, his regeneration is amazing. He could’ve played vs West Ham or Leicester but the Doctor said be careful. He’s ready.’
