Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has, on Thursday evening, provided an insight into the upcoming availability of summer signings Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane.
Reds making moves
The headline news at Old Trafford over the last couple of weeks has of course come in the form of the club’s efforts on the transfer front.
This comes as the Red Devils hierarchy finally go about building the kind of squad capable of launching a concerted push for major silverware over the years to come.
Such efforts, thus far, have proven altogether fruitful, with one statement signing set to be followed by another in short order.
First, after what felt like a lifetime of negotiations between the clubs, United finally confirmed that a deal for English international Jadon Sancho had been struck with Borussia Dortmund on the 23rd of July.
And this has since been followed by the announcement that Sancho is set to be joined at the Theatre of Dreams by one of world football’s finest defenders.
The player in question? Raphael Varane.

‘See how they are…’
In turn, those of a Manchester United persuasion could be forgiven for expressing hope that a first look at the club’s latest additions could be forthcoming in the Reds’ season opener.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are set to get their campaign underway in a highly-anticipated Premier League showdown with rivals Leeds United next weekend.
Speaking to the media on Thursday evening, the Norwegian was therefore drawn on the possibility of either Sancho or Varane being handed their bow for the club versus the Peacocks.
Solskjaer, though, was keen to play down such a prospect, confirming that, at the very best, the big-money pair could take their respective places on the bench at Old Trafford:
OGS on Sancho and Varane: “I need to see how they are. I can’t see them being available for Everton but hopefully they will be ready to be on the bench [against Leeds].”
